5 Input from RFD. ~~~~NOTE updated Nov. 2012~~~: It is now believed that Archer A. Davidson belongs to our family since a new DNA cousin has tested as a member and ties in the grandparents of Archer A. Davidson.

SOURCE: Bill Davidson:
Below are the children of Archer A. Davidson and his wife Elizabeth F. Lester. I know of no connection to an Archibald B. Davidson. Archer A. Davidson was a son of Baker Davidson (died about 1805 in Botetourt Co., VA) and Elizabeth "Betsy" Womack and a grandson of William Davidson and Martha Baker (this last couple moved from the Prince Edward/Buckingham Co., VA area to Botetourt Co., VA around 1769).

4 Archer A. Davidson-Born about 1798 in Botetourt County, VA; died in 1852 in Charlotte County, VA (he left a will).

+ Elizabeth F. Lester-Born about 1800 in Dinwiddie Counry, VA; died 17 Apr 1857 in Halifax County, VA; married on 18 Dec 1822 in Charlotte County, VA; records indicate that she also married a Mark D. Procise in 1844, but more research is needed on that, since the 1850 Charlotte County, VA census shows Archer and Elizabeth Davidson still living together; she was not married at her death in 1857 (as shown above, Archer had already died in 1852).

5 Catherine Davidson-Born about 1848 in Charlotte County, VA; died ?

5 William Bryant Davidson-Born about 1826 in Charlotte County, VA; died after 1870. + Ann Eliza Johns-Born ?; died 1853; married Aug 1847. + Mary P. East-Born ?; died ?; married 22 Apr 1855 (second wife).

5 Luther R. Davidson-Born ?; died ? + Wife?

5 Elizabeth F. Bettie Davidson-Born about 1830 in Charlotte County, VA; died ? + William T. Walters-Born ?; died ?

5 Louisa F. Davidson-Born about 1837 in Charlotte County, VA; died ? + Husband?

5 Anna Davidson-Born about 1832 in Lunenburg County, VA; died ? + Husband?

5 Andrew F. Davidson-Born about 1827 (born in Charlotte County, VA); died 21 Jul 1900 at the age of 73 [History of the Clarksville Baptist Church, 1818-1976, Part II, by Rev. Warren Turner]. Andrew was the apparent minister at Liberty Baptist Church (37 years), Mount Horeb (Lunenburg County, VA?), Bethlehem and Clarksville Baptist Church (possibly among others) in Mecklenburg County, VA.+ Olivia C. LNU-Born ?; died 1869.+ Jennie J. LNU-Born ?; died 1900 (second wife).

5 Virginia F. (or A.) Davidson-Born about 1834 in Dinwiddie County, VA; died 23 Apr 1857 in Halifax County, VA (about a week after her mother died); not married at her death.+ Mr. Marable-Born ?; died ?

5 Sarah Francis Davidson-Born ?; died ?; + Samuel G. Mason (a minister).

Haplogroup Shading Code: Note: all Haplogroup values are reported based on latest Y-DNA Haplogroup Standard nomenclature.
We update these results as the Standard is changed (usually every 1-2 years).
R1b1    Predicted - Haplogroup value is predicted by FTDNA based on marker values.
R1b1    Backbone Test - Haplogroup value is derived based on a now obsolete SNP Backbone Test by FTDNA. Additional SNPs need to be analysed.
R1b1    Earlier Standard - Haplogroup value is measured based on a Deep Clade Test performed by FTDNA based on earlier
Y-DNA Haplogroup Standard. Additional new SNPs need to be analysed.
R1b1    Current Standard - Haplogroup Value is measured based on a Deep Clade Test performed by FTDNA to latest Y-DNA Haplogroup Standard.

Allele Shading Code: Codes to show exceptions to family highlighting based on differences between your results and Predicted Ancestral Haplotype.
Please note that some alleles have been designated as Fast Mutators - this means that changes in their values MAY have less genealogical significance.
29    Difference noted for fast mutating allele. Differences may have less genealogical significance.
29    Difference noted for slow mutating allele.
No value for this allele was observed. Normally used with for 464e, 464f, and 464g.
Ordered. Data has been ordered and awaiting report from FTDNA.

Fast vs. Slow Mutating Alleles: The Alleles whose names are in red in the header row have been designated by FamilyTreeDNA as fast mutating. This means that, when comparing two kits, these alleles have less genealogical significance and figure less in determining if two kits have a family match.
