From the book "Portrait & Biographical record of Clay, Ray, Carroll, Cariton and Linn Counties, Missouri. Published in Chicago, 1893 by Chapman Bros.
The book states that John (generation 5) was born in 1752 and died in 1824, Madison County, KY. His parents emigrated to America when he was a little lad four years of age, and settled in Virginia, where he passed the early years of childhood. Having attained mature age he married a North Carolina lady, who, having shared his home many years, being a true helpmate, passed away in 1852.

1800 tax list for Madison Cty, KY shows John Jr. and John Sr..
The book listed above states that John's wife was Rachel Donaldson and her father and grandfather where born in Ireland, and were builders and carpenters. Her grandfather built Ft. Cooper in Kentucky, and her father constructed Fort Donaldson, also in Kentucky. It stated John owned an excellent farm of 160 acres.

J.C.'s memories, family records, family cemetary and marriage invitation. Ella died not long after her 2nd son was born. She was the d/o William C. Campbell and Amanda McGee Campbell. Amanda was the 1st white child born in what became KC.,MO. J.O. was a confederate soldier in the Civil War under Gen. Sterling Price. and spent his life farming.

Parents of Living Member. Birth and Death Certicates. Elmwood Cemetary records. 3 children, James Campbell Davidson, Ella Davidson and one unnamed (stillborn) son. Both Ernest and Etta died of Cancer. Ernest was an Attorney, Bank President, and Gentleman Farmer owning land in Clay CTY, MO, a mill and post office in SE, MO, and a ranch in Texas (all at the same time) while living in a home he built at 5306 N.Oak Trafficway, Gladstone, MO. Etta was raised in Ottawa, KS., a graduate of St.Mary's College and very active in Kansas City, Missouri society. Her father, George Wellington Beeman, died of Cancer before 1911. Her mother was the former Ella May Detwiler and a descendent of Alexander Hamilton on her maternal side. Etta and Ernest were married at the home of her cousins, the Charles Cravers of 63rd & Meyer Circle, Kansas City, Missouri.

Living in Springfield, MO, current age 95 (Father of contact). He had 1 sister, Ella (named after both her grandmothers, Ella Mary Campbell and Ella May Beeman. She was born in 1915. She received her Doctorate at Columbia University in New York and was head of the Elementary Education Dept at William Jewell College at the time of her retirement. She died of cancer in 1996. Jim was born and lived most of his life in Clay CTY, MO. He was in the Navy during WWII, received an undergrad and masters degree in Economics from William Jewell College, MO. and received his Juris Doctorate at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He also dated Margaret Truman and was her beau and escort to White House dinners during the Truman Administration. Virginia was born in Moran, Kansas in 1934. She received her RN degree in KC,MO., and worked until retiring at the age of 69 to care for Jim who had suffered a stroke. Jim was still working until he was 85 at which time he retired to do volunteer work for the Cancer Society for the next 4 years. He now enjoys watching Virginia raise 300 roses and reading his library of books on Rev. Peter Marshall and Pres.'s Lincoln and Truman. After his stroke he gave up driving and now allows his faithful retriever, Redmond, to bring in his morning paper each day. He still attends Lions Club meetings weekly.
Their children are:
Clark Ernest Davidson, James Kirk Davidson (deceased), Holly Annette Davidson, and Jana Davidson Cowan.
