General Comments:

Hezekiah Davidson (my 5th ggf) had a son named Philemon Davidson (my 4th ggf; died 1810 in Cumberland Co., VA). Based on that fairly rare given name (especially rare for the Davidson surname), it is POSSIBLE that Hezekiah was a member of the Davidson family that was in James City Co., VA (JCCo) in the late 1600s and in Charles City Co., VA (CCCo) after about 1720. There was a Philemon Davidson in that JCCo/CCCo family who died in CCCo in 1773. Hezekiah's wife (Tabitha Childers/Childres/Childress), however, had a couple of men named Philemon in her family, so there MAY not be a "connection" to that JCCo/CCCo Philemon Davidson (died 1773) after all.

A David Davidson and a William Davidson both died in JCCo in 1687, and David had a son who was also named David (died 1756 in CCCo). That JCCo/CCCo Davidson family also had a Stephen (executor of the will of the David Davidson who died in 1756), an Ezekiel (sued Stephen Davidson in chancery court in 1762) and a Solomon Davidson (also had a son named David, it appears, and this David had sons named Moses and Solomon Davidson), so Biblical names were certainly prevalent in that JCCo/CCCo family. I have no proof, however, that Hezekiah Davidson was a member of that Davidson family.

There were also two or three Edward Davidsons in CCCo in the 1700s, and there was also a later William Davidson and a Henry Davidson. This last William and Henry were apparently in the War of 1812, and Henry was the only male Davidson, as I recall, on the 1820 CCCo census. The David Davidson who died in JCCo in 1687 left naturalization papers dated 1686 that showed that he was born in Holland. He owned land in JCCo by at least 1682, based on a land deed. This land was just west of the Chicahominy River, and that area became part of CCCo in 1720. Note: I have no proof that the David Davidson and the William Davidson who both died in 1687 in JCCo were related.

In the 1790s, "my" Philemon Davidson (4th ggf; died 1810) and an apparent descendant of the JCCo/CCCo Davidsons named Charles Davidson were witnesses for one another (on a land deed and in chancery court). This COULD have been, however, simply because these two men had become friends and neighbors in Cumberland Co., VA after Charles Davidson moved there from Buckingham Co., VA in the 1780s. Charles Davidson was a son of an Edward Davidson (died 1794 in Campbell Co., VA). Edward had been in Goochland (by the 1740s, if not earlier), then Cumberland, then Albemarle and then Buckingham Co., VA (by 1761) with his apparent brothers David Davidson (died by 1798 in Buckingham Co., VA) and William Davidson (may have moved to Henry/Patrick Co., VA by 1778 or so).

Haplogroup Shading Code: Note: all Haplogroup values are reported based on latest Y-DNA Haplogroup Standard nomenclature.
We update these results as the Standard is changed (usually every 1-2 years).
R1b1    Predicted - Haplogroup value is predicted by FTDNA based on marker values.
R1b1    Backbone Test - Haplogroup value is derived based on a now obsolete SNP Backbone Test by FTDNA. Additional SNPs need to be analysed.
R1b1    Earlier Standard - Haplogroup value is measured based on a Deep Clade Test performed by FTDNA based on earlier
Y-DNA Haplogroup Standard. Additional new SNPs need to be analysed.
R1b1    Current Standard - Haplogroup Value is measured based on a Deep Clade Test performed by FTDNA to latest Y-DNA Haplogroup Standard.

Allele Shading Code: Codes to show exceptions to family highlighting based on differences between your results and Predicted Ancestral Haplotype.
Please note that some alleles have been designated as Fast Mutators - this means that changes in their values MAY have less genealogical significance.
29    Difference noted for fast mutating allele. Differences may have less genealogical significance.
29    Difference noted for slow mutating allele.
No value for this allele was observed. Normally used with for 464e, 464f, and 464g.
Ordered. Data has been ordered and awaiting report from FTDNA.

Fast vs. Slow Mutating Alleles: The Alleles whose names are in red in the header row have been designated by FamilyTreeDNA as fast mutating. This means that, when comparing two kits, these alleles have less genealogical significance and figure less in determining if two kits have a family match.
