General Comments:

I have long suspected that the parents of proven ancestor, Thomas Davidson, were the Quakers William Davidson and Ruth Sidwell, but have found no proof. Eula Davidson Stanfield (also known as Peg) told me that the strong character of Ruth (Davidson, I assumed) had been a major influence in later generations. Eula knew only the name, not how Ruth was related.

Generation Proofs:

6 Data from settlement of estate of Thomas Davidson in Johnson County, Missouri, listing his heirs, including Jonas. Other heirs include wife, Nancy, and Samuel, Elizabeth, William, Nancy Ann, Stephen M., Sarah and Thomas, believed to be his children. Before his death Thomas administered the estate of John I. Davidson, who died in Johnson County, Missouri in 1843, and we think was Thomas's son. Some heirs of both Thomas and John I. were in Jackson County, Tennessee in the mid-1840s according to papers filed with the Johnson County, Missouri court. This is the same Thomas Davidson as the Thomas Davidson in kit number 124418, born between 1780 and 1790. His parents may possibly be William Davidson and Ruth Sidwell, Quakers, of North Carolina.

This is not Jonas George Davidson of Kit Number 101539.

4 Thomas Marion Davidson was my wife's paternal grandfather. He was deceased before her birth.
My mother-in-law, Emma Mae Shier Davidson was acquainted with Thomas Marion Davidson. He was her father-in-law.

3 My wife's father was Gilbert Otto Davidson, who died in 1946, three days before her sixth birthday anniversary.

2 Harold Calvin Davidson was my wife's brother. I knew him well.

1 My wife's nephew (her brother's son). He provided the DNA.

Haplogroup Shading Code: Note: all Haplogroup values are reported based on latest Y-DNA Haplogroup Standard nomenclature.
We update these results as the Standard is changed (usually every 1-2 years).
R1b1    Predicted - Haplogroup value is predicted by FTDNA based on marker values.
R1b1    Backbone Test - Haplogroup value is derived based on a now obsolete SNP Backbone Test by FTDNA. Additional SNPs need to be analysed.
R1b1    Earlier Standard - Haplogroup value is measured based on a Deep Clade Test performed by FTDNA based on earlier
Y-DNA Haplogroup Standard. Additional new SNPs need to be analysed.
R1b1    Current Standard - Haplogroup Value is measured based on a Deep Clade Test performed by FTDNA to latest Y-DNA Haplogroup Standard.

Allele Shading Code: Codes to show exceptions to family highlighting based on differences between your results and Predicted Ancestral Haplotype.
Please note that some alleles have been designated as Fast Mutators - this means that changes in their values MAY have less genealogical significance.
29    Difference noted for fast mutating allele. Differences may have less genealogical significance.
29    Difference noted for slow mutating allele.
No value for this allele was observed. Normally used with for 464e, 464f, and 464g.
Ordered. Data has been ordered and awaiting report from FTDNA.

Fast vs. Slow Mutating Alleles: The Alleles whose names are in red in the header row have been designated by FamilyTreeDNA as fast mutating. This means that, when comparing two kits, these alleles have less genealogical significance and figure less in determining if two kits have a family match.
