General Comments:
I have long suspected that the parents of proven ancestor, Thomas Davidson, were the Quakers William Davidson and Ruth Sidwell, but have found no proof. Eula Davidson Stanfield (also known as Peg) told me that the strong character of Ruth (Davidson, I assumed) had been a major influence in later generations. Eula knew only the name, not how Ruth was related.

Data from settlement of estate of Thomas Davidson in Johnson County, Missouri, listing his heirs, including Jonas. Other heirs include wife, Nancy, and Samuel, Elizabeth, William, Nancy Ann, Stephen M., Sarah and Thomas, believed to be his children. Before his death Thomas administered the estate of John I. Davidson, who died in Johnson County, Missouri in 1843, and we think was Thomas's son. Some heirs of both Thomas and John I. were in Jackson County, Tennessee in the mid-1840s according to papers filed with the Johnson County, Missouri court. This is the same Thomas Davidson as the Thomas Davidson in kit number 124418, born between 1780 and 1790. His parents may possibly be William Davidson and Ruth Sidwell, Quakers, of North Carolina.
