General Comments:

Our DNA results have created more questions than answers. Our DNA matches 33-36/37 are with Burgesses (oops). We are hoping that we will match with other Davidson families who are really Burgesses.
Court records indicate that Joseph was raised for several years by a brother George b. abt 1785. George probably married Elizabeth Cartmill in 1805 in Tazwell County, VA and moved to Kanawha County/Cabell County, VA in 1807. The earliest records we have for George in KY is in Greenup County court record in June of 1818.(Joseph would have been about 16) The earliest record we have for Joseph is a land deed for land purchased in Lawrence Co. KY
by Joseph and George, in 1824. We believe that Jane Davidson, b. 1799 in VA, who married Lewis Russell in Lawrence Co. KY was probaly a sister. We believe there were several siblings as there is approximately 20 year age difference between George and Joseph.

Joseph and family moved to Platte County, Missouri in late 1839 or 1840 after he sold land in Oct. 1839 in Lawrence Co. KY

George and family moved to Audrain County, Missouri after he sold land in Lawrence County, KY and Cabell County, WV. about 1836. (According to the land sale(Oct. 1836) in Cabell, he obtained the land warrent in Cabell Co., WV 12/27/1811)

Haplogroup Shading Code: Note: all Haplogroup values are reported based on latest Y-DNA Haplogroup Standard nomenclature.
We update these results as the Standard is changed (usually every 1-2 years).
R1b1    Predicted - Haplogroup value is predicted by FTDNA based on marker values.
R1b1    Backbone Test - Haplogroup value is derived based on a now obsolete SNP Backbone Test by FTDNA. Additional SNPs need to be analysed.
R1b1    Earlier Standard - Haplogroup value is measured based on a Deep Clade Test performed by FTDNA based on earlier
Y-DNA Haplogroup Standard. Additional new SNPs need to be analysed.
R1b1    Current Standard - Haplogroup Value is measured based on a Deep Clade Test performed by FTDNA to latest Y-DNA Haplogroup Standard.

Allele Shading Code: Codes to show exceptions to family highlighting based on differences between your results and Predicted Ancestral Haplotype.
Please note that some alleles have been designated as Fast Mutators - this means that changes in their values MAY have less genealogical significance.
29    Difference noted for fast mutating allele. Differences may have less genealogical significance.
29    Difference noted for slow mutating allele.
No value for this allele was observed. Normally used with for 464e, 464f, and 464g.
Ordered. Data has been ordered and awaiting report from FTDNA.

Fast vs. Slow Mutating Alleles: The Alleles whose names are in red in the header row have been designated by FamilyTreeDNA as fast mutating. This means that, when comparing two kits, these alleles have less genealogical significance and figure less in determining if two kits have a family match.

DNA Comments :

This Kit matches several individuals with the Burgess surname. There are no matches to the Davidson surname.
