General Comments:
Daniel Davison, my first ancestor in America, was a member of the Scotch
Covenater Army that was defeated by Lord Oliver Cromwell's Army at the
Battle of Dunbar, Scotland on Sept. 3, 1650. He was made a prisoner of
war and shipped along with others on the Ship Unity to the MA Bay Colony
as an indentured servant. The first record of Daniel Davison in America
is his marriage to Margaret Low at Ipswich, MA on April 13, 1657
according to Essex County Court Records, Salem, MA. In 1667, he
purchased 135 acres of land from Richard Hubbard at the Hamlet (now
Hamilton, MA), which is located in south Ipswich near the Wenham line. |
