Elizabeth Stowell
- Sex: F
- Born: BEF. 15 JUL 1711 in Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA
- Died: BEF. 1729
- Baptized: 15 JUL 1711 in Watertown, Middlesex Co., MA1
- Notes:
According to the Stowell Genealogy (1922, p. 33), There is uncertainty in the identity of this Elizabeth Stowell. Although there is no authority for it, the Elizabeth given in by Bond as baptised 15 July 1711 is placed here because it is the only place where she can be put. She is generally credited with being the daughter of David (son of David), but in order to do that they have to assume he had a wife before Patience and they give her the name of Elizabeth. David was hardly old enough in 1711 to have a daughter, being only 18. There is not record of the birth, death or marriage of this daughter Elizabeth; nothing but the baptism. She may have been the daughter of David, son of Samuel, for it may be noted that he bought land in Watertown, 6 February 1707/8 and is described in the deed as "of Watertown", and all of his children were baptised there 20 Nov 1709, so he may have been living there in 1711. She probably died young for in the settlement of the estate of Benjamin, who would have been her brother, no mention is made of a sister Elizabeth, although it mentions all his known brothers and sisters except Josiah, who also probably died young.
