  Some genealogies claim that Eunice Allen is actually Eunice (Gale) Allen, the widow of Benjamin Allen. However, Eunice Gale was born in 1711 and would have been much too old to have given birth to Abijah's children. Benjamin Allen and Eunice Gale had a daughter Eunice Allen who is recrded to have married Jonathan Tower. They are recorded to have had children at the same time and later than Abijah's children. Consequently, she is not the wife of Abijah Stedman.
